Welcome at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica of Ottawa

Dear Friend,

Thank you for visiting our site. We are Ottawa's oldest standing and largest Church. This is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ottawa and the Mother Church of all of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Ottawa. We are also a National Historic site in Canada.

If you are visiting Notre-Dame for the first time on the internet, welcome to our site. It will provide you with a wonderful introduction to the Cathedral which on the one hand is a growing community and on the other hand, a splendid example of Canadian religious art. Know that you are always welcome to join us in worship or to drop in for moments of quiet prayer and meditation.

Everyone is welcome to enter into the life of our parish. You can find much about it on our site. Please support us with your prayers. And, if you are able, you might consider helping us to fulfill our mission by making a donation, or a pledge, as a parishioner or a friend. Once again, thanks for stopping by.

Fr Paul McKeown
Rector

Anniversary of the Dedication of Notre Dame Cathedral On September 4 &5, at our Saturday and Sunday offices,

we will celebrate the 157th anniversary of the dedication of Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica (1853). The importance of the cathedral church in the liturgical life of the diocese flows from the role of the Bishop as the high priest of the Lord's flock. Every parish community is related to the Bishop, and therefore the anniversary of the cathedral church's dedication as a place of worship is celebrated throughout the diocese. Annual
