The Pastoral Council
Robert Rochon is the Chairman, Rome Audet in the Secretary, the members are Tom Fotheringham, Mary Halloran, Cathy MacDonald, Fr Paul McKeown.
Infant Baptism Team
Deacon Carl Kazmierski is the Coordinator of a team which prepares families and young people for the Sacrament of Baptism. They are always delighted to welcome new members of their team which is vital to our community. (Deacon Mike Pilon heads up the identical team in the French sector of this Parish).
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Yet another dynamic team welcomes new members to this important ministry at the Cathedral. These committed Catholics assist young adults and adults in exploring the Catholic faith in this process which leads to the celebration of Baptism or Confirmation in the case of those already baptized. It is a unique process which transforms those ministering as much as those exploring. (Mme Marie Martin Mubbard heads up the identical team in the French Sector).
Marriage Ministry
Jean-Guy Bourgeois heads up the Celebration Preparation Team. This ministry organizes the practices for all the Wedding Celebrations at the Cathedral, including preparing those who will proclaim readings or offer prayers and all others who will play a role in the event.
Fr Paul McKeown himself coordinates the Marriage Preparation Courses with the assistance of numerous parishioners. In this ministry the couples are prepared for every aspect of married life and given the opportunity to learn more about the practice of the faith here at the Cathedral.
The Liturgy
The Liturgy Committee is chaired by Lorène Kayser. If you are interested in joining the preparation teams for the English Eucharist's, you would be most welcome. They are always looking for people to help serve, to proclaim God’s Word, to be Ministers of Communion, to greet people, to assist with the collection and the Offertory Procession.
Music Ministry
The Cathedral has an extensive musical program. Michel Guimont is the Music Director of the Cathedral and the Organist is Jennifer Loveless. The Youth Choir alternates with the Women’s Choir, under the direction of Joan Fearnley at the 9:00 a.m. Eucharist. The Senior French Choir sings at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist and the Senior English Choir sings at the 12:00 noon Mass. Cantors provide singing leadership at all other Eucharist's. The choirs sing from September to June on all the Sundays of the year. If you are interested in any aspect of the musical program, please contact Michel Guimont, through the Parish Office.
Pastoral Care
Judith Anderson heads up the Pastoral Care Team, which works closely with the Pastor. Those involved in this ministry care for the sick, the bereaved, the afflicted and the needy. The team is always happy to welcome new members, and especially grateful to be informed of any needs where they might be helpful.
Coffee Sunday
Lucy Bebee heads up a large committee of faithful parishioners who organize these gatherings on the last Sunday of each month, after the 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00 Masses Each Sunday. They are always happy to welcome new helpers. This is a wonderful way for us to meet fellow parishioners and become more involved in parish life.
The Annual Bazaar & Crafts Group
The Annual parish Bazaar takes place in November of each year. A very large committee is coordinated by Lucy Bebee and together with the help of many people; one of the city’s largest Bazaars is organized annually. This group works year-round in preparation. If you would like to join them, or donate any items, they can be reached through the parish office.
The Knights of Columbus
Under the leadership of the Grand Knight, Roger Richard, these dedicated Catholic men assist in the charitable and liturgical works of the parish. New members are always welcome to contact them through the parish office. |
